    The starting hole is a sharp dogleg right with the green sitting on a steep hill. The green slants back to front, leaving you with a tough putt if you are above the hole.

  • 2 : "The Hill and Dale"

    This green sits upon a hill and is reachable in two with a good drive. The fairway is an undulation dogleg right. The green is elevated and guarded by a single sand trap.

  • 3 : "The Gambler"

    This is risk and reward hole. You can hit anything from a short iron to a driver off the tee. The hole is drivable from the regular tee, but there is a risk involved as the hole is a dogleg right with a large gully along the left side of the fairway. The green is tucked into a corner. On a clear day, you can see the Blue Ridge Mountains off in the distance.

    There is an elevated tee overlooking a chasm. The green is guarded by a deep sand trap in front. Once you are on the green, be sure to look back at the tee. The view can be awesome depending on the time of year and sunshine.

  • 5 : "The Landing

    A sharp dogleg right, this hole requires a precise tee shot to a small landing. A short iron to the right of the green is all that is left. There is a deep gully running along the entire left side of this hole.

  • 6 : "The Long Climb"

    While it is short on yardage, this hole is long in playing. It is a dogleg left and uphill all the way. The green is surrounded by a gully on three sides making an accurate approach a must. The green can be reached in two if you hit very good shots.

  • 7 : "The Chute"

    The fairway is straight but, because it has hills on both sides, the tee shot usually requires a slight fade. The green is elevated and undulated.

  • 8 : "The Lake"

    This hole can be tough, as there is no bail out area. It requires a 150-yard carry over water. The tee is elevated and the green is carved out of a hillside. A short tee shot will either be in the water or on the side of very steep, unplayable hill. A long tee shot will put you on a hill above the green with very little chance of par.

  • 9 : "The Home Hole"

    This hole is a dogleg left with the second shot over a pond to an elevated green. A draw on your tee shot will leave you with a second shot of about 150 to 180 yards. The fairway runs downhill from the 150-yard marker down to the 100 yard markers. This could lead to a downhill lie, to an elevated green, over a pond.

    Start out the back nine on an elevated tee overlooking a narrow fairway. A stream runs down the entire left side of the fairway and behind the green. There are wooded hills on both sides. A small trap guards the right side of the green.

  • 11 : "The Bog"

    This tee shot is from an elevated position and continues through a narrow chute over a bog, opening to a wide fairway. The fairway is uphill from the landing area to the green, which is guarded by a sand trap in front. The green is tucked and elevated. The approach shots play longer than the yardage.

  • 12 : "The Valley"

    Another elevated tee overlooks a valley. There are woods along the left side of a sloped fairway. A well-placed tee shot leaves you with a short iron to an uphill green.

  • 13 : "The Hill"

    This green is uphill from the tee. There are sand traps on both sides of the green on front. There is a small gorge on the left of the green. This hole plays longer than the yardage.

  • 14 : "The Prairie"

    This is a straight hole with a wide fairway. The fairway slopes left to right. The green has sand traps on both sides and slants from front to back. Here is a chance for the big hitters to grip it and rip it.

  • 15 : "The Trail of Tears"

    This is the hardest par 5 on the course. Bogey and double bogey are real possibilities. The fairway is level up to 260 yards from the green. Woods run down the entire right side of this dogleg left hole. The left side is a mix of woods and rough. The second shot on this hole is crucial. There is a pond at the 150-yard marker and a stream that crosses most of the fairway at the 100-yard marker.

    This hole is a slight dogleg left. A blind tee shot that will kick to the left will leave you with a short iron shot to the green. There is a sand trap on the right front.

  • 17 : "The Pond"

    A tee shot over a pond to a large green. The green breaks more than it looks.

  • 18 : "The Heartbreaker"

    18 : "The Heartbreaker"

    This is the toughest par on the course. A slight right leads to a long 170-yard uphill green. The fairway is wide. There is a sand trap about 15 yards in front of the green. This makes the green seem closer than it is, leaving many approach shots short. Par is an excellent score here.
